Responsibilities include functional, regression, ad-hoc and compatibility testing of Java rich clients, Ajax web applications, and RESTful web services. Day to day work would include bug reporting and isolation, test case authoring and refinement, executing automation scripts, and working closely with developers and technical support team members.  This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong technical and communication skills who can contribute in a team environment.


  • Must have strong skill in testing Java and web technologies
  • Concern for and some familiarity with interaction design and human-computer interface issues
  • Knowledge of web standards including Javascript, CSS, and HTML
  • Automation, agile development, test-driven development
  • API testing
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced and dynamic environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Able to focus on assignment/task and deliver quality results with minimal outside direction.


  • Experience in schedule driven GUI software project
  • Experience with HTML5
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills





Required proficiencies:


  • Java 1.5 and up
  • Multi-tiered Java rich client architecture, consisting of Swing clients, EJB services, Java Persistence ORM, and PostgreSQL
  • Subversion and version control in general
  • JBoss and EJB in general
  • SQL and relational databases in general
  • XML (syntax, general processing)
  • UML
  • Development tools: Eclipse, ant


Desirable proficiencies:


  • Web applications and architectures, end-to-end: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST, Web MVC, JSP, Tiles, Spring
  • Health care protocols, esp. DICOM and HL7
  • Linux system administration
  • Maven
  • Hibernate, HQL, JMS, XSLT
  • Experience with performance optimization, Knowledge of TCP/IP and Network Programming
